BOLDNESS OR BREAKTHROUGH

It is the presence of God that brings life.

Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy PRESENCE is FULLNESS OF JOY, at thy right hand there are PLEASURES for evermore.

When I get into His presence, I have fullness of joy and pleasures forever.

Hebrews 6: 19 [Now] we have this [HOPE] as a sure and steadfast ANCHOR of the soul [it CANNOT SLIP and it CANNOT BREAK DOWN under whoever steps out upon it-a hope] that reaches farther and enters into [the very certainty of the PRESENCE] within the veil, [Leviticus 16:2].

We’ve got an anchor for our souls that is so strong, sure and steadfast that it cannot slip or waver or falter, no matter who steps on it, no matter who pulls on it, no matter who puts strain on it. This anchor is a hope and faith is the substance of the things hoped for. (Hebrews 11:1) If you have no hope, why do you have faith? You’ve got to hope before you can use faith to let the hope come into being. We’ve got such a hope that is so steadfast; it is an anchor for our souls. It reaches farther even into the presence within the veil.

In the tabernacle of Moses, there was an outer court, a holy place and then there was a veil and behind this veil was the Ark of the Covenant. On the top of the Ark was the Mercy Seat with two cherubim on it. Their wings were covering the Mercy Seat of God and the Glory of God appeared there and smoke went up into heaven. Everybody could come into the outer court to bring sacrifices. In the holy place only the priests could enter, but no one could enter the Most Holy Place except the high priest once a year. He had to enter with blood as a sacrifice for the sins that the people committed during the past year. According to Hebrews 9:9 this is a visible example of the true tabernacle in heaven.

This anchor reaches into the presence of God and that is behind that veil. We’ve got to get behind the veil into the presence, where we’ve got this anchor for our souls that cannot fail. Don’t think that you are the strong and the brave one. No one can live without the presence of God.

God is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. He is all over, but God’s manifest presence is where He dwells. That is behind the veil and in that presence we have a hope that is so steadfast that it cannot waver. People are struggling, knowing that their hope is wavering, because things are not the way it is supposed to be. Things are not breaking through. Things are not happening like the prophetic word said. You read all the testimonies of great men and woman of God, but you are not breaking through because you’ve got to enter the place that is called ‘There. Where the Presence is.’
When we find the way to enter into that presence, we’ll find where our hope is.

When you have to drop an anchor from a ship, you do not just throw it down, you have to make sure that it is anchored. When you feel the anchor hits the bottom, you give it some slope. The ship then has to turn around and around till you feel it is hooked, then you pull the ropes tight and next you throw the second anchor out. Now the ship is steadfast and cannot move in the wind.

All the anxiety, fear, stress, sicknesses and struggles are in our souls. Therefore we have the anchor that is steadfast, for our souls.

3 John 2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your SOUL keeps well and prospers.

When your soul is all right, your finances and your health will prosper. When the hope of your soul is troubled, your finances and health crumble.

The anchor of our souls stretches into the place behind the veil where the presence of God Almighty is. The veil was a protection, because God said that no one could see His Glory and live. When they entered the place called ‘There’ in the wrong way, they died. That was under the old covenant. When Jesus died on the cross, that veil in the temple in Jerusalem was torn from top to bottom. (Matthew 27:51) God said: “Let’s do away with this thing.” A few days before that, the disciples said: “Look at this temple!” and Jesus said: “Break it down! In three days, I will build the real temple.”

A PLACE BEYOND THE VEIL

Hebrews 6:20 Where JESUS HAS ENTERED IN FOR US [in advance], a FORERUNNER having become a High Priest forever after the order (with the rank) of Melchizedek. [Ps. 110:4].

Jesus did not go into a tabernacle that was made with hands, but into the heaven of heavens itself. Jesus went in advance, not for Himself, but for us. He went in beyond the veil for us all, long before He knew that after 2000 years, people are going to sit in a service and hear the message preached on the anchor for our souls. The place beyond the veil is the place of Glory or the Throne or the Holy of Holies or the Most Holy Place or the Secret Place

Psalm 91:1 He that dwells in the SECRET PLACE of the Most High shall abide under the SHADOW of the Almighty… …There I will command my blessing.

Solomon said that God wants to dwell in darkness. So he made that inner place or the Holy of Holies very dark when he built the temple. (2 Chronicles 6:1) The only light inside was because of the Glory of the Living God. God said that he that finds a dwelling place inside the Secret Place will be covered under the wings. Under the feathers he shall find a resting place. There shall no evil befall thee. (Psalm 91)

There is a Secret Place where Jesus went in advance for us. That is where the throne of God is and where His Glory dwells. The Glory of God is all His Power, all the signs, the wonders and the miracles and all the healings. When you experience the miracle power of God you say: “Glory! Oh, Glory!” God’s Presence is in His Glory and His Glory is in His Presence. In His Presence is anything you need and want and ever desire.

GOD WILL BREAK THROUGH FOR YOU

There is a wall of resistance between you and the promises. You are standing on the one side and on the other side are all the promises of the Almighty God. The promises are the Glory. You want to get on the other side, but there is a wall of resistance. What you need is a breakthrough. Now we start pressing from this side. We praise, we give, we work and we do, do and do and sometimes we get a little penetration in the wall and we see all the power of God, but it is as if we do not really enter into it. We need a breakthrough into the promises.

The only problem is that you cannot breakthrough to get it. In the Word there were people that tried to breakthrough to enter. In 2 Samuel 6, David wanted to bring back the Ark. The Ark is God’s Presence and His Glory, the Anchor and the Hope. So they built a new cart for the Ark and carried the Ark back, but it was not done in the correct manner that God had prescribed to them. They carried the Presence, the wonders, signs and the miracles, the Power, the Glory, the Holy of Holies, and the Secret Place with them. When the oxen stumbled at a threshing floor where there was a bump in the road, Uzzah stretched out his hand to steady the Ark to prevent it from falling. God killed him because Uzzah broke through to the Presence. David called the place Perez-uzzah meaning: “Breaking through on Uzzah.” God broke through on Uzzah and killed him.
God has His Word and He has to stick to His Word. The devil does not stick to rules because he is a liar, but when God says something, He does it.

Numbers 23:19 God is not a man that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Exodus 19:21-24 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish. And let the priests also, which come near to the LORD, sanctify them, lest the LORD BREAK FORTH upon them. And Moses said unto the LORD, The people could not come up to mount Sinai: for thou charge us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and sanctifies it. And the LORD said unto him, away, get thee down, and thou shall come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the PRIESTS AND PEOPLE BREAK THROUGH to come up unto the LORD, lest he break forth upon them.

If they broke through, God said that He would break through on them and kill them because He would not allow any man to break through into His Presence which is His Private Place where His Glory and Power is. This is the place where He creates things. This is the place where He works and dwells and He would not allow any man to break through into it. When Uzzah broke through, God said that He gave His Word in Exodus 19:21-24 and that He had to kill him.

2 Samuel 5:19 And David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.

David, a man after God’s heart, asks God if he should go up to fight and God said yes, but David must allow Him to do something for them.

2 Samuel 5:20 And David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD HATH BROKEN FORTH UPON MINE ENEMIES BEFORE ME, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.

God says that David must allow Him to go before him and He (GOD) broke through on his enemies.

2 Samuel 5:21-24 And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them. And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt NOT GO UP; but fetches a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees. And let it be, when thou HEAR THE SOUND OF A GOING in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt BESTIR thyself: for then shall the LORD GO OUT BEFORE THEE, to smite the host of the Philistines.

David asks God if he should go and fight. God answered, yes, but David had to allow God to go before them in the fight. God directed him and told him that when he passes the trees and he hears the rustle in the top of the trees, he must fall in with God. You have to have spiritual ears for this. If he was going to fight on his own, he would surely loose the battle.

GOD SENDS HIS ARMY FIRST

God said that if David would always allow God to breakthrough for him in the battle, he will always win. David listened for the sound of marching in the top of the Mulberry trees, before acting.

In 2 Kings 6 God opened the eyes of Elisha’s servant to see God’s armies on the top of the mountains and 2 Chronicles 20 the armies of God set an ambushment against Jehoshaphat’s enemies. It is heavenly armies. Exodus 14 the armies of heaven let all the Egyptians drown into the Red Sea. In the natural you can look and ask how you are going to do it or you can listen and hear for the sound from heaven. You can break through and struggle for the rest of your life, or you can allow God to break through for you.

When David heard the sound, God said that it is the time to stir themselves. They started praising the LORD like in 2 Chronicles 20 when they sang: “Bless the LORD for His goodness and mercies endureth forever.” Or like Moses who said: “As you see the Egyptians today, you will never see them again.” Just do something. Stir yourself, because God will go before you and breakthrough on your enemies and you will have the victory.

Our problem is that we want to do it. We think that we can get a breakthrough and we want to take the glory and the next minute disaster strikes and someone else is blamed.

2 Chronicles 20: 15-17 Be neither afraid, nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for THE BATTLE IS NOT YOURS, BUT GOD’S. Tomorrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see THE SALVATION OF THE LORD with you,

Jehoshaphat got the people together and said that if they do not have to fight, they just as well can worship and they started with: “Bless the LORD, for His mercies endure forever. Bless the LORD, for He is good!” Then God sent mighty heavenly armies to destroy their enemies.

There is a song we sang about ten years ago:

For the LORD is marching on.
And His army is ever strong.
And His Glory shall be seen upon our land.
Raise the anthem sing the victor’s song.
Praise the LORD for the battle’s won…

GOD WANTS TO DO IT AGAIN

Isaiah 28:21(a) For the LORD shall rise up as in MOUNT PERAZIM.

Where is Mount Perazim?

When David asked God if he should fight, God said: “Yes, Go! But fight, No!” “Listen for the sound of My Army and when you hear My Sound.” “All you have to do is to stir yourself up.” “Start worshipping and praising, for I will fight for you.” So, David called that place Baal-perazim, the LORD of the breakthrough, because God broke through for David through his enemies like waters that broke through.

God says: “As on that Mount Perazim, I want to do it again.” This is a prophetic word for the church of the LORD, Jesus Christ. God says that if you can think on what He did for David on that Perazim, He wants to do exactly the same for you.

Isaiah 28:21(b) …that he may DO HIS WORK, HIS STRANGE WORK; and bring to pass HIS ACT, HIS STRANGE ACT.

God wants to break through for you, but it must be His Work and His Acts. So it is not the Acts of the Apostles, but the Acts of the Holy Ghost. It was God that was moving.

Isaiah 28:24-25 Do the plowman plow all day to sow? Do he open and break the clods of his ground? When he hath made plain the face thereof, do he not cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed barley and the rie in their place?

God is using terminology, which you can understand and He asks whether a farmer would go on with ploughing after the ground is smooth? God is saying that in essence the church is going on doing and doing and doing. They are forever ploughing. When are we going to stop ploughing? He is asking when the church is going to sow some seed. There is a time for a harvest and a time to reap, what you’ve been sowing. The church can’t reap or sow because they are still ploughing. You must understand this spiritually. The church has the mentality of: “We must do! We must do!” We are trying to impress God, but God says: “I want to break through for you, like I did for David at Baal-Perazim.” “I want to show My Works to you and show My Acts to you.”

So, God says: You must stop ploughing after the ground is smooth and put some seed in the ground.

Isaiah 28:29 This also comes forth from the LORD of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in wisdom and effectual working.

God says: “I am going to do things for you.” “I’m gonna breakthrough for you.” This is a prophetic word for the church.

BREAKTHROUGH IN HIS PRESENCE

In Exodus 25:10-22 God told Moses to build an Ark with the mercy seat and with the two cherubim on top with their wings covering the mercy seat. Underneath the wings, on top of the mercy seat is the place where God will meet with him and that place is called ‘There.’ He said: “Moses, there I will meet with you and speak intimately with you.” It is time to be intimate with God. God says: “Come into My intimacy, My private household where My Glory, signs and wonders are. Moses, I’ve got a place that I have prepared and it is called ‘there.’ It is underneath the wings of the cherubim on the top of the mercy seat and if you can only find out how to get there.”

Psalm 91 He that dwelleth in the SECRET PLACE of the Most High shall abide UNDER THE SHADOW of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall COVER THEE WITH HIS FEATHERS, and UNDER HIS WINGS shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which are MY REFUGE, even the most High, and thy HABITATION; THERE shall no evil befall thee; neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him MY SALVATION.

We need a breakthrough, but the only problem is that we cannot break through. God tells us that He is the LORD of the breakthrough. “David, stand and hear and when you hear the sound, it is time to just stir yourself because I’m gonna then breakthrough for you.” So, all you have to do is to have ears to hear what the Spirit of the LORD is saying to the
church.

Hebrews 9:1-5 Now even the first covenant had its own rules and regulations for divine worship, and it had a sanctuary [but one] of this world. [Exodus 25:10-40].
For a tabernacle (tent) was erected, in the outer division or compartment of which were the lamp stand and the table with [its loaves of] the showbread set forth. [This portion] is called the Holy Place. [Leviticus 24:5, 6].
But [inside] beyond the second curtain or veil, [there stood another] tabernacle [division] known as the Holy of Holies. [Exodus 26:31-33].
It had the golden altar of incense and the ark (chest) of the covenant, covered over with wrought gold. This [ark] contained a golden jar, which held the manna and the rod of Aaron that sprouted and the [two stone] slabs of the covenant [bearing the Ten Commandments]. [Exodus 16:32-34; 30:1-6; Num. 17:8-10].
Above [the ark] and overshadowing the mercy seat were the representations of the cherubim [winged creatures which were the symbols] of glory. We cannot now go into detail about these things.

Paul tried to tell them that it would take ages to describe what is underneath the wings in the Glory, the Presence of God.

Isaiah 6:1-3 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

Above the throne are wings. The cherubim look down and say to one another: “Look at that, it is holy, holy, holy.” And then the whole earth was filled with the Glory of God. The doorposts started to shake and the whole place was filled with smoke. Underneath the wings is the Glory. Everything you ever want or need is contained in this one word: “Presence.”

If God would stand before you today, visibly, do you think that there is any thing that He wouldn’t be able to do for you, today? God is the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for Him?(Jeremiah 32:27)

Imagine you standing before Him in His presence, with your little petitions. Just imagine how small they look in the Glory of God. Holy angels are all around you with their wings covering you and they say: “Holy, Holy, Holy!” All around you is smoke and Glory and God says: “What do you want, son? There is nothing impossible, because you’ve entered My Glory.” “Do you see all the stars? I just said: “Let it be!” and there they were.” “Do you see this Milky Way. It will take you 67million years to go from one end of the Milky Way to the other, when you travel at 160 000 km/hour. The Milky Way is one of the smallest galaxies and belong to a family of Galaxies, of which you cannot see the end. The light of them take 15 million light years (light travels at 300 000 km/sec) to reach us.

  • “Did you know I stood one day in space and wondered what it should look like if the whole space was decorated? Did you know I created the earth and the plants and the animals for man and …what do you want?”

  • “LORD, I need a breakthrough.”

  • “Yes, but you try too hard for a breakthrough. If you allow Me. I am Baal-Perazim.” “I am the LORD of the breakthrough.”

JESUS CLEARED OUR CONSCIENCES

Hebrews 9:8 By this the Holy Spirit points out that the way into the [true Holy of] Holies is NOT YET THROWN OPEN AS LONG AS THE FORMER [the outer portion of the] tabernacle REMAINS a recognized institution and is still standing,

Jesus said: “Break it down. If the former one still stands, we cannot throw the real one open. So, forty years from now Caesar will break the temple down and set the whole Jerusalem on fire. In the mean time, let’s get the Holy of Holies scattered. I will die on the cross and with a loud voice cry and the earth will tremble so that the veil would tear and they will NEVER be able to restore it again. In forty years from now, the temple will be torn down by the Jews to get the gold out. Break it down! I want to throw open the real one.”

Jesus went in advance for us.

Hebrews 9:9 Seeing that that first [outer portion of] the tabernacle was a parable (a visible symbol or type or picture of the present age). In it gifts and sacrifices are offered, and yet are incapable of perfecting the conscience or of cleansing and renewing the inner man of the worshiper.

As long as they had the tabernacle with the three portions and bring the offerings, with those rituals, the conscience or inner man or the heart could not be cleansed or renewed. (In the Old Testament they did not used the word, ‘conscience’ but ‘heart.’ In Hebrews it is described that heart is the conscience and the inner man.)

The conscience of the man did the condemning work. It tells the man that he is guilty and ugly and he is a sinner and how can he come before a Holy God? How can he call God his God or his Father? The heart was condemning man, so how could he come and get from God? The inner man or the heart stood in the way of receiving from God. Now the rituals of the former covenant are done away where the heart could not be cleansed.

Hebrews 9:11-15(a) But [that appointed time came] when Christ (the Messiah) appeared as a High Priest of the better things that have come and are to come. [Then] through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with [human] hands, that is, not a part of this material creation, He went once for all into the [Holy of] Holies [of heaven], not by virtue of the blood of goats and calves [by which to make reconciliation between God and man], but His own blood, having found and secured a complete redemption (an everlasting release for us).
For if [the mere] sprinkling of unholy and defiled persons with blood of goats and bulls and with the ashes of a burnt heifer is sufficient for the purification of the body, [Leviticus 16:6, 16; Numbers 19:9, 17, 18].
How much more surely shall the blood of Christ, Who by virtue of [His] eternal Spirit [His own preexistent divine personality] has offered Himself as an unblemished sacrifice to God, purify our consciences from dead works and lifeless observances to serve the [ever] living God?
[Christ, the Messiah] is therefore the Negotiator and Mediator of an [entirely] new agreement (testament, covenant), so that those who are called and offered it may receive the fulfillment of the promised everlasting inheritance.

With the old way of rituals the man’s conscience could not be cleansed. But Jesus Christ took His own blood and went in advance for us into the place which is called ‘There’ where the Holy Glory Power and Presence of the Almighty God is. He sprinkled His own blood in the true tabernacle not the one made with hands, but in the heavenly. He purged, cleared and cleansed our consciences or our hearts so that we will not be condemned.

Romans 8:1 Therefore, [THERE is] now NO CONDEMNATION (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus

In His Presence, where His Glory is, “THERE” is no condemnation. He cleansed our hearts, which condemned us. 1 John 3:19-21 says that when our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts. When you are in a desperate situation where you need God, your heart starts to condemn you. It says: “When did you last read your Bible?” or “You treated your family badly this morning.” or “You are a sinner.” In these situations the word says that God is much greater than your heart. God knows what you have done. God is greater than a condemning heart, but He wants you to get ‘There’ for ‘There’ is no condemnation.

GO BOLDLY AND ASK

1 John 3:21,22(a) And, beloved, if our consciences (our hearts) do not accuse us [if they do not make us feel guilty and condemn us], we have CONFIDENCE (complete assurance and BOLDNESS) before God, And we RECEIVE from Him WHATEVER we ask.

If we can come to a place where our hearts condemn us not and ‘There’ is that place, we have boldness. The righteous is as bold as a lion. (Proverbs 28:1) A lion does not ask a gazelle to catch him. So, if we’ve been made righteous because Jesus became sin so that we can be the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. (2 Corinthians 5:21) We know that the blood has cleansed us and our consciences are now clear. We can now enter the place called ‘There’ and boldly ask. Whatsoever we then ask we will receive. When it comes to the breakthrough, it is God who is the LORD of the breakthrough. He goes in advance and breakthrough for you.

REMEMBER – Most Holy Place – THERE – under His feathers.

Hebrews 10:19-23 Therefore, brethren, since we have FULL FREEDOM AND CONFIDENCE TO ENTER into the [Holy of] Holies [by the power and virtue] in the BLOOD of Jesus,
By this fresh (new) and living way which He initiated and dedicated and opened for us through the separating curtain (veil of the Holy of Holies), that is, through His FLESH,
And since we have [such] a great and wonderful and noble Priest [Who rules] over the house of God,
Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water.
So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgement of it, for He Who promised is reliable (sure) and faithful to His word.

It does not say that you breakthrough to the throne. You go to the throne.

How must you go?

 Boldly.

How can I enter in?

 Because of the blood.

Why can I enter in?

Because the veil is now rent.

What is the veil?

It is the body of the LORD, Jesus Christ that was stripped open on the cross.

We can go boldly to the throne of Grace to find help, exactly when we need it. Why do people pray and say that God will someday answer them? Someday you will be too old for that answer.

THE BREAKER GOES BEFORE

Micah 2:13 The BREAKER is come up BEFORE them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their KING shall pass BEFORE them and THE LORD ON the HEAD OF THEM.

God is before us that are breaking through.

Micah 2:13 (Amplified) the BREAKER (the Messiah) will go up before them. They will break through, pass in through the gate and go out through it, and their King will pass on before them, the LORD at their head.

The Messiah or the Breaker went in advance and we that need a breakthrough go in boldly because of His blood. But we want to fight the fight. God said ‘No’ to David and He told him to just listen to the sound and let God breakthrough and destroy the enemies and David won the war.

YOUR WARFARE IS WON

Isaiah 40:1-2(a) Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her WARFARE IS WON.

People, be comforted! Your fighting has ended. Your warfare is over. Don’t try and get your breakthrough. Come and accept your Grace. Come and realize that Jesus paid the price. You can boldly go and get the goods.

Isaiah 53:5,12 but he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall DIVIDE THE SPOIL with the STRONG.

He shares it with the people who realize that He did it all!
