Hebrews 13:6 (Amplified) So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, THE LORD IS MY HELPER; I will not be seized with alarm [I WILL NOT FEAR or dread or be terrified]. WHAT CAN MAN DO TO ME?

The implications of this scripture are greater than what meets the eye. It touches our everyday lives. Whenever we come into contact with people who try to intimidate, offend, dominate and undermine us we must know The LORD is our helper, we should not fear for what can man do to us?

Ephesians 6:10a (Amplified) In conclusion, BE STRONG IN THE LORD…

We must be strong in the LORD. Paul said in II Corinthians 12:10 that when we are weak, the LORD is strong. We should never trust in our own abilities, strength and talents. Our trust and faith must be in God.

Ephesians 6:10-11 (Amplified) In conclusion, be STRONG IN THE LORD [be empowered through your union with Him]; DRAW YOUR STRENGTH FROM HIM [that strength which His boundless might provides]. Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may BE ABLE successfully to STAND UP against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.

You must be able to stand against the devil.

Ephesians 6:12 (Amplified) For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the SPIRIT FORCES OF WICKEDNESS in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

Our warfare is not against man, but against spirits, principalities, powers, evil forces and wickedness in high places. Don’t fear what man can do to you, because when they come to you and you know that you are strong in the strength and might of the LORD, you will be able to stand. You will not fight, but be able to stand!

Ephesians 6:13 (Amplified) Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and STAND YOUR GROUND on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to STAND [FIRMLY IN YOUR PLACE].

You must be able to stand your ground and keep on standing. When you feel you’re sliding, falling, crawling, sitting or perhaps lying on the floor; keep on standing. Then when you are standing, watch out, if you think that you are standing firm in your strength, you can fall. It isn’t how strong you are, but how strong you are in the LORD’S strength and power. Knowing that, you can boldly say that the LORD is your Helper, what can man do to you?

Ephesians 6:14 (Amplified) STAND THEREFORE [HOLD YOUR GROUND], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God…

In Exodus 14 the Egyptians were chasing the Israelites and when they reached the Red Sea, the Israelites were terrified. Moses stood up and said, “Fear not!”, “Stand still and see the salvation of the LORD!” Then God told them to advance.

You don’t have to fear and you can boldly say that God is your Helper. Stand still and put on God’s full armour by totally trusting Him to fight for you. Then you will see the salvation of the LORD.

2 Chronicles 20:14,15,17 (KJV) Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation; And he said: “Hearken you, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus says the LORD unto you, BE NOT AFRAID nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for THE BATTLE IS NOT YOURS, BUT GOD’S.” … YE SHALL NOT HAVE TO FIGHT IN THIS BATTLE: set yourselves, STAND YE STILL, and SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: FEAR NOT, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD WILL BE WITH YOU.

We are wearied, because of all our fighting, but we must take up our positions and stand still.

2 Chronicles 20:20 (KJV) And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat STOOD and said: “Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; BELIEVE in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; BELIEVE HIS PROPHETS, so shall ye prosper.

We must not fear but stand and believe. Believe in the LORD and in His prophets. We must not touch the anointed of the LORD and do His prophets no harm (Psalm 105:15). The prophets remind us that the LORD is our Helper and that we don’t have to be afraid. Our problem is not with people, but the spirits that controls people. The longer you fight the person, the longer the battle will continue. The quicker you realize that there is a spirit involved and you give it to the LORD, the sooner you’ll know that you are able to stand and resist. Then you will surely see the salvation of the LORD. Sometimes you want to say, “But that person…” Remember that the Word says, “What can man do to you?” In order for this to function in you life, the LORD has to be your Helper and fear must be removed from your heart.

When Daniel’s three friends were thrown into the fire, they told the king: “Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the blazing furnace and out of your hand!” (Daniel 3:17-27) After they came out, they did not even smell like smoke. The king wanted to know how it could be that, after they had thrown three men into the furnace, they saw four men. When God is your Helper, He is able. The king asked Daniel if the God whom he served would be able to deliver him from the lions’ mouths (Daniel 6:20).

When you are clothed with His armour you can stand in His strength and not in your own strength. Then you will know that you don’t have to fight but that the LORD will fight for you.

When the devil realizes that he cannot disturb your heartfelt peace, he will not fight back, but draw back. If the devil inspires a person to attack you and you are not disturbed, he will draw back. You don’t have to fear a man; he can do nothing to you. If you know the God you are serving, He is able to save you.
Is your God able?
Why then are you fighting, rebelling and backbiting?

There was a time when I truly knew what it was to have peace. The minute I lost my peace, I lost my strength and I was not able to stand. I didn’t look at the great God of the universe anymore, but at the circumstances.

It’s not about falling, it’s about standing up. A righteous man may fall seven times, but he gets up again (Proverbs 24:16). God uses many things to speak to us (including movies) The 1975 Sylvester Stallone movie called ‘Rocky’ is one of those God used to speak to me. It was about a boxer, who had a manager who didn’t want to promote him. When the heavy weight contender became sick and couldn’t fight, they didn’t want to cancel the fight, because it was to be staged on Thanksgiving Day. They looked through the files and found him – an Italian. They thought it would be nice to have an Italian fighting against the champion, because Italians founded America. During the fight, he was knocked down, but stood up every time. People advised him to throw in the towel, but he just stood up and eventually he knocked the champion out and became the world champion. In 1989 this movie saved my life when I saw the quality of getting up now matter how hard you’ve been hit. I read a book, “God’s Wounded Warriors” and the author wrote about being burnt out. At night when his wife was asleep, he would watch the videos, Rocky I, Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV and Rocky V. He was so inspired by this man who just stood up again and again. We should obtain this same attitude.

Psalm 78:15-22 (KJV) He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths. He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers. And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness. And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust. Yea, they spake against God; they said: “CAN GOD furnish a table in the wilderness? Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; CAN HE give bread also? CAN HE provide flesh for his people?” Therefore the LORD heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel; Because THEY BELIEVED NOT IN GOD, and trusted not in His salvation…

They asked the question, “Can God?” three times. They didn’t believe God and they all died in the desert.

We should speak God’s Word over our lives. The devil will prompt you in circumstances and situations to speak negatively and say the wrong things. As soon as you do, his demons come to torment you. He can only work with what comes out of your mouth. That is why the fighting never stops. You’ll fight the same battles over and over, because you make them your battles. This cycle can only stop when you stop it. You must realize that the battle is the LORD’S and you are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against tormenting spirits.

Deuteronomy 3:1-6 (KJV) Then we turned and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei. And the LORD said unto me, FEAR HIM NOT: For I will deliver him, and all his people, and his land, into thy hand; and thou shalt do unto him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon. So the LORD our God delivered into our hands Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him until none was left to him remaining. And we took all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we took not from them, threescore cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. All these cities were FENCED with HIGH WALLS, GATES, and BARS; beside unwalled towns great many. And we UTTERLY DESTROYED THEM, as we did unto Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city.

When the Israelites crossed the Jordan into Canaan, there were several cities with high walls. God told Joshua to go and possess the land and not to fear, reminding him of the way in which they had destroyed all the high walled cities of Og and Sihon.

Deuteronomy 3:20-24 (KJV) Until the LORD have given rest unto your brethren, as well as unto you, and until they also possess the land which the LORD your God hath given them beyond Jordan: and then shall ye return every man unto his possession, which I have given you. And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto these two kings: so shall the LORD do unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest. You shall not fear them: for the LORD your God he shall fight for you. And I besought the LORD at that time, saying, O Lord GOD, thou has begun to show thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that CAN DO ACCORDING TO THY WORKS AND ACCORDING TO THY MIGHT?

When Moses spoke to Joshua about the battles they had won in the desert, he told him not to fear for they had only seen the beginning of what the LORD could do. He asked, “What God is there who can do what He does?” He stirred Joshua to believe God to do the impossible. Never come to a place where you ask, “Can God?” God can! God is able and that makes you able.

Numbers 13:27-28 (KJV) And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sent us, and surely it flows with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.

Moses sent the twelve spies to spy out the land to see whether it was flowing with milk and honey, had walled cities and if the people were giants or not. Moses had already told them not to worry about the high walls, reminding them of how they had destroyed the cities of Og and Sihon.

Numbers 13:30-33 (KJV) And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for WE ARE WELL ABLE to overcome it. But the men that went up with him said, We be NOT ABLE to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. And they brought up an EVIL REPORT of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Many times people think that others are thinking bad things about them, but not realising that it is their own thoughts. When you feel like a worm other people will pick it up. We aren’t worms because our God is able and that makes us able.

Numbers 14:1-3 (KJV) And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or would God we had died in this wilderness! And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? Were it not better for us to return into Egypt?

Numbers 14:6-9 (KJV) And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes: And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land. If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. Only REBEL NOT ye against the LORD, NEITHER FEAR ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD IS WITH US: FEAR THEM NOT.

Joshua knew that the enemy’s defence had been removed. They didn’t have to fear for the LORD was with them.

Numbers 14:10 (KJV) But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the GLORY OF THE LORD APPEARED in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.

Joshua and Caleb stood up and said that God was able to help and they did not fear man. If God said that they were going to take the land, they were going to take the land. The people wanted to stone them, but they did not fight back; God fought for them by sending His Glory.

Numbers 14:11-14 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? And how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shown among them? I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they. And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;) And THEY WILL TELL it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

We have to bring the good report and testify about Who God is, what He is doing and what He is saying. You must renew your mind according to His Word and not conform to the way you grew up, the way you used to think and see or imagine things. Speak the Word! How long will it take before people will hear His Word, say what God says and bring good reports about what God has done? Stand up, keep on standing and resist the devil. You are able because God is able. Never ask whether God can or not, but say that God can! Stop grumbling and when you are tempted to say the wrong things, stand firm. Do not say, “Yes, but…”

Numbers 14:15-18a (KJV) Now if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying, Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness. And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, ACCORDING AS THOU HAST SPOKEN, saying, The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression…

Are you like God? God’s armour is being patient, forgiving and full of grace and mercy. When He wanted to kill the people Moses told God that if He showed His wrath towards the people of Israel, destroying them, the people of the land would say that He was not able. Moses wanted the Israelites to see God’s power, His armour. Check the condition of your armour. Are you clothed with grace, mercy, forgiveness and patience? If so, you will win the battle, because you trust Him to sort out the matter.

Numbers 14:19-20 (KJV) Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou has forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now. And the LORD said, I have pardoned ACCORDING TO THY WORD…

In Exodus 33-34 God said that He was full of grace and mercy, forgiveness and loving-kindness and this is what Moses reminded God of. Moses’ words were His Words. He could therefore agree with Moses and forgave them as Moses had requested Him.

When the angel visited Mary and told her that she would have a child, she said that it should be to her according to what he said. God wants us to agree with Him and then His Word in our mouths will be as powerful as His Word in His own mouth.

Reinhardt Bonnke went into Africa with the words, “My Word in your mouth is as good as My Word in My mouth” and leads thousands of people to the LORD.

Numbers 14:21 (KJV) But as truly as I live, all the EARTH SHALL BE FILLED WITH THE GLORY OF THE LORD.

Isaiah 6:3 (KJV) …the whole earth is full of his glory.

Habakkuk 2:14 (KJV) For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

God’s plan is that His glory must fill the earth. Moses sent twelve spies to spy out the Promised Land. When they came back, ten said they couldn’t take the land and two said they could, in other words: ten didn’t believe and said that God was not able, but two believed God and said that He was able. The people wanted to stone the two, but His glory came to protect them because these two people out of three million stood up and said, “Thus says the LORD…!” They didn’t prophesy, but only agreed with what God had already said.

If we keep on saying what God says, we will not have all the battles that knock us to the ground and make us look so depressed. Imagine if all the people in the church start saying, “God can!” All the accusations and fighting coming from the outside will fade away because the glory fills the house.

After Moses died, God came to Joshua and told him not to fear because He was with him. He told Joshua to be strong and courageous and to take the people into the Promised Land. Joshua sent two spies into the land. He took two whom he could trust to bring a good report instead of twelve where ten could bring and evil report.

Joshua 2:9-10a (KJV) And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. For WE HAVE HEARD how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea for you…

The two spies came into Rahab’s house where she related the city’s fears to them. Forty years prior the Red Sea had dried up and they were still terrified because of the stories they had heard even before the twelve spies were there. Ten of the twelve spies said that they were as grasshoppers in their own eyes, so they were as grasshoppers in the enemies’ eyes. That is the reason why people don’t reach their full potential. They always feel inferior and inadequate – they feel like worms. You must get rid of that mentality. Are you going to be one of those who died or are dying in the desert or will you live in the Promises of God and in the Glory?

Joshua 2:10b-11 (KJV) …when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. And as soon as WE HEARD THESE THINGS, OUR HEARTS did MELT, NEITHER did there remain any more COURAGE in any man, because of you: for the LORD YOUR GOD, HE IS GOD IN HEAVEN ABOVE AND IN EARTH BENEATH.

Rahab told the two spies that they remembered Sihon and Og and the things God did for His people. This caused their hearts to melt with fear of the Israelites. They already decided in their hearts that they had lost the city.

Joshua 2:23-24 (KJV) So the two men returned and descended from the mountain and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all things that befell them: And they said unto Joshua: Truly the LORD HATH DELIVERED INTO OUR HANDS ALL THE LAND; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us.

One generation later these spies came back and said, “It is our city!” They repeated what Joshua and Caleb said forty years prior.

Matthew 7:24-27 (Amplified) So everyone who HEARS THESE WORDS of MINE and ACTS UPON THEM [obeying them] will be like a sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who BUILT HIS HOUSE UPON THE ROCK. And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had been FOUNDED ON THE ROCK. And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them will be like a stupid (foolish) man who built his house upon the sand. And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell-and great and complete was the fall of it.

You will go through storms, no matter who you are. When you hear the Word of God, you must speak it and your house will stand, no matter what. The one who hears the word and says, “But…” – “But I’m still on the earth…; But I have a mind…; But I must be wise…” – has built on the sand and when the storms come, he will fall. You must change your mind and mentality to agree with God’s Word. Either you are on God’s side or you fight with the devil. Your “buts” say that you are fearful and God can’t help you. We must act on the Word by saying what God says. Then we will stand, resist and keep on standing.

If you have been trained in a certain way, it will last for a while after you have stopped training. When you compromise and don’t keep on saying what God says, you will still have glory for some time, but then it will fade away. You won’t notice immediately that it is diminishing. You will eventually fall at the slightest opposition. After you receive the anointing you must continue to renew (exercise) it, otherwise you won’t realize when you are no longer in the anointing and that is dangerous. Churches run with the anointing when it comes but forget to refresh it. You learn how to preach and although you can’t change your features, you can change your character. Stay in the glory, because God can! He will fight the battle for you!

We rule and reign in this life through Christ Jesus (Romans 5:17). When a problem arises, you can stop it by saying that you are going to pray and speak God’s Word over it. We must help each other. If you can’t speak God’s Word, keep quiet so that the strong ones can help the weak and remain strong. Stop trying to prove yourself. The proof is in the way you trust God by taking His Word, believing, saying and continuing to say what He says.

Confess the following:

Today I make a quality decision that my Bible is God’s Word. It is written for me and I decide to build my house on the Rock and it will stand. There is no power on earth that can stand against God’s Word. This is God’s Word and I dare to believe that it has been given to me to be life-giving, to separate me from the not-able- and cannot- ones. I decide that I am an able- and can-person, because God can do all things. With God all things are possible. I dare to believe that He is above all situations and circumstances and “buts”. I boldly say that the LORD is my Helper, I shall not fear, what can man do to me? I don’t wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, rulers in darkness and wickedness in high places. My battle is easy, because I stand on the Rock, the Word of Christ Jesus, my LORD and my Saviour. I boldly confess that God is for me and nothing can be against me. I boldly confess that I can do all things, because Christ strengthens me. I boldly confess that the LORD Jesus Christ is my Shepherd and I shall not be in want. My head is anointed with fresh oil and my cup is running over. Goodness and mercy, which is His armour, follow me all the days of my life. The LORD is my Strength and my Refuge. He is my Shelter and my very present help in times of trouble. I will not fear. God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. From this moment on I will stop spreading evil reports like the ten spies. I believe the good report that He was wounded for my transgressions and was bruised for my iniquities. The punishment that brought me peace was upon Him and by His stripes I am healed. I confess this Word over my household, my family, circumstances and situations. God is fighting my battles and that makes me able to stand.
