Power in the Scripture

2 Pet 1:21 (KJV) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man; but holy men of God
spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost.

:2 (Amp) … men spoke from God who borne along (moved and impelled) by the Holy Spirit.

So what he says is that we have the Old Testament which is mainly prophetic books. Everything of
the old points to the new; points to the coming of the Christ; which is Jesus our Lord. Every time they
wrote, the Bible says, they were moved upon by the Holy Spirit. They didn’t write out of themselves.
The Holy Spirit came and inspired them, they were impelled by, they were moved upon, they wrote
out of the area / atmosphere of the Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 34:16a (Amp) Seek out of the Book of the Lord and read … So I can seek a scripture that is
associated with my circumstances and I can read it as a prophecy. Now listen to the rest … not one
of these [details of prophecy] shall fail. Seek out of the Bible, then read and not one of these
prophecies shall fail.

We know Num 29:19 God is not a man that He should lie, neither a son of man that He shall …
come to pass.

We know Rom 3:4 (KJV) …that every man be a liar but God be truth. We know that God’s Word
cannot fail.

We know 2 Cor 1:20 (KJV) says as many are the promises of God; they all are yes and amen in Christ
Jesus. We know that God said it for a purpose, so how about getting it in fulfillment in our lives?
This is more or less what I want to touch on. Seek out of the Book and when you found it, read it. We
are in this habit the last thirty years, of just quoting scriptures. Stand on the Word, say the Word,
speak the Word. How about reading it for a change!

In other words: you see it, you speak it and you hear it, all at the same time. What kind of power
would be involved if you can get more senses involved?

Rev 1:1 (KJV) The revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave unto him to shew unto his servants
things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified [it] by his angel unto his servant

:2 Who bare record of the Word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, … You can draw a line
from testimony to Word. So He’s testifying about the Word of Jesus Christ who is the Word, was the
Word and who always shall be the Word. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with
God and the Word was God. And we know that everything that was made was made by this Word of
God. So here comes Jesus Christ, He’s bringing a revelation of Himself, who bears record of the Word
and is carrying the testimony of this Word which is Jesus Christ.

:3 Blessed [is] he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those
things which are written therein: for the time [is] at hand.

When I read that long time ago, God said to me: “So many tried and read the Bible and then they
want to keep the prophecy by legalistically do and don’t.” Now if you read the Book of Revelation, it
is not a book of do’s and don’ts. It is a book of the revelation of Jesus Christ, appearing to John on
the Isle of Patmos. Rev 1:9 ‘I John, your brother in tribulation and in the kingdom for the work of
God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ, was on the Isle of Patmos and I was in the Spirit on the
Lord’s day and I heard a voice behind me and I turned around.’ And what did he see? The Lord Jesus
Christ. So it is a witness and a testimony of Jesus Christ who bear record of the Word, who IS the
Word, who shall always be the Word, who became flesh and took on a form, a body, to show us how
the Word of God operates.

So John saw this; it says: ‘John, write, (Rev 1:11 KJV) take a pen and everything that I now reveal, you
got to write it down. And then, after it is written, blessed is everybody that will read it, blessed is
everybody that will hear it when it’s read and blessed is everybody that then will keep it.’
But this is how we heard it in the old school: ‘Brother, you got to keep this word. If God says you got
to repent, you got to repent. You got to do this, you got to do that.’ That’s not what the word keep
means. It means: I must see it as precious, as holy. I must say: Oh, I want to keep it.

When we were small, that was about in 1954 – 1960, and we played marbles or cowboys-and-crooks
or cars (especially when someone got something from you), we would say: “Are we playing for fun or
are we playing for keeps.” For fun meant that if we played marbles and we won each other’s
marbles, that we would just give it back at the end of the game. But if it was for keeps, every marble
I won, I could keep, I had it.

Now this is what the Bible says: Blessed is the man that keeps the Word. When you hear it, you
make it your own and you say: My goodness, not one of these words of prophecy shall fail.

So search in the Book, find the place and then read it out loud and not one of these words of
prophecies shall fail because holy men of old wrote under the inspiration of the moving of the Holy
Spirit of the Living God.

Isaiah 64:1 (KJV) Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens (open the heavens) that thou wouldest
come down. How many times did Jesus say in John: I come down from heaven, I come down from
heaven, I come down from heaven. Remember it is a prophecy. Isaiah 34:16 (KJV) says you must
search in the book, take a look and find a place and read it. And not one of these prophecies shall

So here is a prophecy: ‘Oh that You would rend the heavens, oh that You would come down.’ Listen
to this.

Isaiah 64:1 (KJV) that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,

:2 As [when] the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name
known to thine adversaries, [that] the nations may tremble at thy presence!

:3 When thou didst terrible things [which] we looked not for, thou comest down, the mountains
flowed down at thy presence. Here it comes!!

:4 For since the beginning of the world [men] have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither
hath the eye seen … So we have heard, we have perceived, we have seen. He says since the
beginning of creation, nobody heard what this guy is prophesying for. Nobody has perceived it,
nobody has seen it. So God, if You will just open the heavens, if You would come down. Things are
going to happen what people have never seen. Things are going what to be heard what people never
heard. Things are going to be perceived what people never perceived. If You can just come down
from heaven.

:4 … oh God, beside thee, [what] he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. Underline

1 Cor 2. He says: Oh that You would open the heavens and come down. He says: No ear has heard,
never been perceived, no eye has see what God prepared for those that wait for Him. Oh, that You
would rend the heavens and come down. Jesus said a couple of times: I come down from heaven, I
am from heaven, I am from above. Remember when Jesus was born? This is actually a prophecy of
Jesus coming to earth down from heaven, opening the heavens.

There was a woman by the name of Anna. At the age of 84 she served God with fasting and prayers
because she waited for the revealing and coming of the Christ. When Jesus was born, she was daily
in the temple, praying. The moment Jesus was born this woman stood up and started prophesying
and she said: ‘He has come. He’s now here, the Christ has come.‘ Remember, the angels screamed
it: “Joy to the world, the Christ has come!!!” The shepherds start telling the story: Christ is born.

There was another man in the temple by name of Simeon (according to tradition he was blind and
was led into the temple) When Jesus was eight days old He was brought to the temple according to
the custom of the Jews. The Bible says: Simeon waited for the Salvation of Israel. When they brought
Jesus to him, he said: ‘Oh Lord, let thy servant now go, because my eyes have seen the Salvation of
the Lord.’ He couldn’t see, he was blind, but he waited.

Oh man! God has prepared for those who wait, things that no ear has ever heard, no eye has ever
seen, nobody has ever perceived. There we have two examples. What were the people waiting for?
For Messiah!

This morning I realized: Hey, the waiting upon the Lord was for the prophecies. Christ has come, now
I got to get what we waited for. It’s actually the fulfillment. I thought: ‘My goodness, I’m not waiting.
I’ve been proven by two people, Anna and Simeon that they waited. They both said: ‘I saw … ‘
Now remember that we’re talking about the written Word that must be read so that people can
hear. Why?

Rom 10:17 says: Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word, but with new light on the subject.

1 Cor 2:4 (KJV) And my speech and my preaching [was] not with enticing words of man’s wisdom,
so that your faith not stand … remember how faith comes by hearing the Word … in the wisdom of
men but in the power of God.

:6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of the world, nor
of the princes of this world, that come to naught:

:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained
before the world unto our glory:

:8 Which non e of the princes of this world knew: for had they known [it], they would not have
crucified the Lord of glory.

:9 But as it is written … Stop and look up. This is one word: ‘I have not come to you with the
excellence, enticing words of men’s speech but I’ve come to you in a demonstration of the Spirit and
power of Almighty God. So I want to tell you that if the princes of the world knew this wisdom that
we are now speaking to you, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory, but as it is written …’

I’m saying it like that so that you can understand the power of the written word that we can read. So
he says: ‘All this is said so that you can understand what is written. Now he’s going to quote what is
written so that you can grasp the word, so that not one of the prophecies shall fail, but you’re going
to look in the Book and you’re going to find a place and you’re going to read it and … bam-biddybam-bam … the prophesies will be fulfilled and you’ll not feel like a spiritual orphan, a spiritual leftout, or a spiritual bum any more. You’re going to feel like something that is a child of the Living God
and the promises of God are yes and amen and you’re going to see it for a change!

:9 But as it is written … Now Paul brings the cross in here … eye hath not seen, nor ear heard,
neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that
love Him.

:10 But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, ye, the
deep things of God.

:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the
things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

:12 Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might
know the things that are freely given to us of God.

:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, … he repeats it
for the third time … but which the Holy Spirit teacheth, … (2 Pet 1:21) … comparing spiritual things
with spiritual.

:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto
him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.

:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man

:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of

The context: Jesus Christ was crucified. If the princes of this world knew, they would never have
done it. As it is written… So we‘re going back to Isaiah 64 and realize it is written. No man has ever
heard, no man has ever perceived, no man has ever seen what God is able to do. The Amplified Bible
says in Isaiah 64: God will show Himself active on behalf of those that wait for Him. God is ready to
show Himself active in your finances, God will show Himself active in your physical body, God will
show Himself active in your business, in your ministry, in your marriage, in your daily walk. God will
show Himself active in what you have never seen, never heard and in what has never came up in
your heart. God will do it!!

If you know you have the mind of Christ; cause Christ was crucified on a place called “Scull”, to get
hold of your scull, to put His mind in your mind so that you can think like Christ; then talk like Christ,
then walk like Christ, then do like Christ; because spiritual things are compared with spiritual things.
It is written! If I just read what 1 Cor 2 (KJV) says, it is just a good story; but if I take a look in the
Book and find a place where it is written and I read it, then not one word of prophecy shall fail.

2Tim 3:15 (KJV) And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures …

Why do we have a Christian School?
Why do we have church?
Why do we have children in church and not a children’s church?
Why do we have children sitting here where the Word is preached?
Why do we allow children to take part in the communion?

Jesus didn’t only die for over-sixteen’s. In the church that I grew up in, Jesus only died for those over
sixteen. When you were sixteen, you did catagism and then you were confirmed and then you were
accepted. And only then you could partake in the communion table. Well.

We have infants and we put the bread in their mouths: ‘Here, eat of Jesus!’ We dip ‘wine’ in their
throats and say: ‘Come on … the blood of Jesus!’ ‘No, you can’t do that.’ Did Jesus only die for over

Since when must the church accept you? I thought you accepted Jesus. That’s a wicked doctrine that
already died in 1540 with Martin Luther and those guys. Why do you still stick with the wicked thing?
Come out from amongst them!!

I shouldn’t say this. I want you to speak the Word!

Do you know what one of the questions is that all the churches that do the catagism ask you when
you stand in front of the pulpit to say yes and you can eat the bread and drink the cup? “Do you
confess that this is the only true church and all other doctrines are heresy and that you will have
nothing to do with them?” I’ll tell you more:

I grew up in that church. By the age of twelve I departed from that church. As a small boy I
loved Jesus but I became very wicked. I came back to Jesus in my early twenties and I got
baptized here in Stilfontein in the little dam. I went back to the church and I told the
reverend that I got baptized. He fell from a stepladder and I prayed for him to get healed. He
took my hands off and said: “You can’t pray for me. I’m a reverend, I studied for seven years.
How can you pray for me?” I said: “Well, the Bible says that those who believe …” He said:

“No-no-no, you can’t pray for the sick. Only certain people can pray.”

Then I got expelled from the church and they read my name from the pulpit. They said: “Mr.
JA Jansen van Rensburg is no longer a member of the body of Christ … “not their churchname “… and he is a heretic and we want all people to treat him as a heretic.”

This very same portion they read when John Huss was burnt. The same thing they read when
they expelled Martin Luther from the church. Those very same words they still read in
church today.

Forgive me; this is not the right sermon. Let’s get back to the right one. Remember what we’re busy
with? Blessed is he that reads, he that hears and he that keeps the Word. I want to talk about the
power of the written Word that is read and heard.

1Tim 4:8 … but godliness is profitable unto all …

:11 These things command and teach

:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

:14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the
hands of the presbytery.

:15 Meditate upon this, give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

:15 (Amp) Meditate upon this so that your progress may be evident to everybody.

This could be a very important word, because we all have the Book, the Bible. How much honor,
praise and value do we give to the book that is called Bible? How much reverence do we have when
we open it and read it? Is it just to sooth our conscience? At least I read Ps 23 before I went to bed.
Or is it: the Most High God is going to speak to me out of words that people wrote when they were
inspired and moved upon by the Holy Spirit, and when I read it, God has the power to breathe life in it
so that every word do not stay a written word, but it becomes a prophecy, and every prophecy will
come to fulfillment. Not one word will fail. If I find a place and read it, it shall surely come to pass, it
shall not fail.

Isn’t it time that the wonderful Word will become a reality and every one will say: Man, I read that
and here it is! I read that and here it is! I read that and here it is!!! I’m not sick any more, I’m not
poor any more, I’m not troubled and worried any more, I got no more cares! I’ve got peace, I’ve got
joy, I’ve got happiness.

Is the Book just there to prepare us for heaven or is the Book there to give us LIFE? So many people
preach that everything will be okay when we get to heaven. So we struggle on earth and then, one
day … Just look at the TV: One day all will be right, one day when we all went to heaven. We pass
through the Jordan … when we get to the other side then all our troubles will be laid down.

No man! The Bible says: ‘Peace on earth.’ His coming was to bring grace and mercy to you on earth,
not in heaven. Stop postponing! I said it so many times: “Stop postponing and start POSESSING!

It’s time to say:

I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I’m fed-up with being fed-up.

I’m tired of …

Paul says: Give yourself to reading. Give yourself wholly to what you read. Pay attention when you
read, because you got to hear it. Now, if someone else read it, you’re going to hear it too. Then take
it, meditate upon it and your profit, your progress, your success will be seen by all.

There’s farm ground next to us which is now city ground. It’s been proclaimed municipal
ground. They’re going to build the biggest mall in the North-West right here, next to our
church, close-by. There’s a big, nice farmhouse on this ground. For 25 years I said: “I
prophecy that house will be ours.” I applied for it, I made them offers for it, and I said I’ll
swop my house in town for it.

Four years ago, a very rich man bought all the ground, proclaimed it as municipal ground and
he’s developing it now into a very big mall and into factories. (There’s going to be a big
motorcar-factory) So I said to the lawyer: “Won’t you ask that guy if he won’t sell that house
to me?” It’s so close to the church.

For 25 years I said that house will be mine. Now when they were busy with the maps, to
apply to the government different portions, the lawyer said to him: “You know, our pastor
asks if you won’t sell that house to him.” He said: ‘Tell the man he can have the house.”

Last week, after the Pastor’s Conference (that’s now 2 years later); on the Monday I received
two e-mails. One said: ‘The ground that you applied for 5 years ago, you can come get it
from the municipality.’ We just needed to pay a small amount of money. The second e-mail
said: ‘You must come to the surveyor to sign another form because they want to get the
house-deal through – it’s been donated to you.’ All in our name!!! It’s worth millions. They
just sold 2 stands next to this ground for R14 000 000-00. We now got 10ha of ground, with
a house. For free!!!

‘It can’t happen to me!’ You just said it, so how can it happen?

Years ago I heard TL Osborne said that he went to a William Branham meeting and when he saw the
miracles, he said: ‘I can do that.’ And I started, whenever I saw a preacher preach, I said: ‘I can do
that.’ They quote scriptures. ‘I can do that.’ They have a nice car. ‘I can have that.’ They have a nice
house. ‘I can have a nice house.’ They have real leather shoes. ‘I can have too.’

Paul says: Give yourself to reading, throw yourself wholly into it; meditate upon it. And you know
what? Your progress, your success, your profiting will be seen by all. Let’s do 2 scriptures on that. I
can quote all scriptures but we got to read them. Because of the revelation of blessed is he that
reads, blessed is he that keeps it …

Joshua 1:8 (Amp) This book of the law, this book of scriptures, this book of the Word shall not depart
out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do
according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make (YOU shall make, YOU!) your way
prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.

Who’s going to have the breakthroughs and the success and the profiting? Paul said to Timothy: ‘If
you take this Word, read it and meditate on it and your profiting and your success will be seen by
all.’ People will see stuff when you breakthrough. He said to Joshua: Take this Word, do not let it
depart from your mouth, but meditate on it, day and night. Your progress, profiting and success will
be seen by all.

‘But Kobus, he used the word law.’ One scripture that proof the law and the Word can be one thing,
if it comes through the cross.

Rom 10:4 (KJV) says: Christ is the end of the law to all that believe. For Moses described the
righteousness of the law like this: He, who does it, shall live by it, but the righteousness of faith
speaketh on this wise: Say not in your heart who shall ascend to heaven to bring Christ down or who
shall go to the abbis to bring Christ up. But what does it say?

The word is in your mouth and in your heart. He just said the righteousness of the law and the
righteousness of faith. Two different ones: the one you got to do to get it, and the other one you got
speak it to have it; in your mouth and in your heart. So Joshua, let it be in your mouth and meditate
on it. What God said to Joshua wasn’t the law; it is the living Word of the Living God. Can you get it?
This is what God said to Moses in Deut 30: This commandment …

Do you know what a law is? It is a written code that if you do it, you get it. If you don’t do it, you
don’t get it. Do you know what a command is? You just do it! When you’re in the army and they say:
‘Attention!’ you have no choice, you come to attention. If they say: ‘At ease!’ you go at ease. It’s a
command. If they say: ‘Forward, march!’ If you don’t march, the people from behind walk right over

The Bible says: The Word is in your mouth … So, read it! Hear it! Meditate it! And you’re going to be

God says: Every place that you put your foot on (in the previous verses) I have given that to you.

This place where our church is was a Drive-in Cinema, one of the biggest in the country of
South-Africa and it belonged to Ster-Kinekor. They didn’t hire the ground, it was their own
property. They bought it in 1955 and the Drive-in was flourishing. We had a tent next to the
highway. We had 7 people and the Drive-in had 4 000 people. How do I know that? It could
take 1 400 cars and you know how many people could fit into 1 400 cars.

They had a premier on one movie and the cars were standing for 1 kilometer, right next to our church (our tent). I saw all the cars and I said: ‘Wouldn’t it be nice if all the lights could shine on our church and they drive in here and not in the Drive-in’ and I thought: ‘My goodness! Every place you put your foot on has been given to you. Let this Word not depart from you, meditate on it.’ So I got my wife and my boys and I said: ‘Let’s go to the Drive-in.’
Not when it was on, when it was out. You know what we did? They had big security gates there, but they didn’t lock it, it was standing open. So we went in and we started walking on this property and we said: ‘We claim this, this is our property, we’re going to build a church here, the biggest one in the North-West, people are going to come from all over the world!’At nighttime I meditated, I drew the plans of the old church, of the new church and I said:‘This is where it’s going to stand and it’s going to face this way. The pulpit is going to face that way.’ I drew the seating and I meditated upon it. ‘Oh …!’

Two years later, a little note in the local newspaper: Ster-Kinekor closing! So I phoned
them and said: ‘I believe the place is closing, I want to buy it.’ They said: ‘We haven’t even
decided on selling it.’ I said: ‘I want to buy it! Give me the price now!’ They came back to me
with a price so cheap-cheap-cheap. And we couldn’t buy it.

But two years later the keys were in our hands. The place was ours. We built our school
here, we built our first church here and now, look at the church we have here.

At nighttime I dreamt about this place. We built a little pre-fabricated house a kilometer
from here and it had glass doors. I would sit there and say: ‘That Drive-in is going to belong
to us. We’re going to build a church, and as the cars are standing now to enter the Drive-in,
it’s going to stand to enter the church.’

If you were here at the Conference, 2 weeks ago; if you were here last Saturday, man, the
cars queued; people struggled to get onto the highway because of the string of cars!

Ps 1:1 (KJV) Blessed is the man … there it comes again! Blessed – blessed – blessed … that walketh
not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the
scornful. So people say: ‘I mustn’t do this, I mustn’t do that …’ This is not what he says. You cannot
take the first part as law and say it. But v2 is the one for us.

:2 … and in His Word (law) does he meditate day and night …

:3 And he (the one who meditate in the Word day and night) shall be like a tree planted by the
rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and
whatsoever he doeth shall prosper … whatsoever he does shall prosper, whatsoever he does shall
prosper, whatsoever, whatsoever!

‘Oh Kobus, everything I do and touch lately, it goes wrong!’ Where on earth … which scripture says
that? ‘Every business transaction fails; everything I try to sell, fail. Nothing, nobody comes into my
shop!’ What scripture have you, Job 1? You’re meditating lighting striking your cattle; you’re
meditating thieves taking your house. Jesus says: ‘No! I have come that you might have life and have
it more abundantly.’ The thief comes to steal and take. Are you meditating theft, robbery and
stealing? What are you meditating? He says whatsoever you do shall prosper. ‘Oh Kobus, we believe
in God for a church but since we started believing, everything went wrong.’

When we believed God for a church, all the money came in.

When we believed God for the TV Station, all the money came in.

When we believed God for the satellite antenna, all the money came in.

When we trusted God to buy 4 busses in one month, all the money came in.

All because I meditated on it.

I saw the children in the new busses.

I saw the satellite dish standing there, broadcasting all over the world.

I meditated it!

Now remember Isaiah 43:16 (KJV) Search the Book, look, find a place, read and not one of the
prophecies shall fail. Look into the Book; what eye has not seen, what ear has not heard, what has
never come up in the heart of man …

Ps 119:48 My eyes prevent the [night] watches, that I might meditate in thy Word. Got it? It says:

in the night-watches I prevent the night of getting control of me, my eyes are preventing it!

At nighttime when I wake up, (every night at about 2 or 3 0’clock), the moment I wake up, I don’t try to roll around and seek why I’m waking up, I immediately switches the light on, take the Bible and I read it. True. I open it anywhere and I read, read, read … Then I close it, get up, pray a little and then I go back to bed.

My eyes prevented the night watches so that I might meditate on His Word. It means that at night
time when everybody else is sleeping and I wake up, my eyes are going to prevent the night of taking
control of me. I quickly get into the Word, read and when I fall asleep again, I want to meditate the
Word, I dream stuff and I get revelations. I get up in the morning and I can’t write down quickly
enough what I heard through the night because I meditated the things of the Almighty God.

Luke 4: The story is more or less this: in Luke 3:21 Jesus is baptized by John in the Jordan. He came
out of the water, the Holy Spirit descended on Him in bodily form and the Voice said: “This is my
beloved Son, in Him I am well-pleased …” and the Bible says that Jesus was led into the wilderness
by the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1) He was tempted of the devil and every time the devil said: ‘If You be the
son of God, turn these stones into bread … If You be the Son of God jump off … If You are the Son of
God fall down and worship me and I’ll give you … Every time Jesus said to him: It is written. It is
written. It is written. Jesus did not say: ‘I rebuke you Satan!’ When Jesus faced the devil He said: ‘It is
written.’ But when Peter was full of the devil He said: ‘Get behind me, Satan.’

I think somebody must get up and say: Devil, this Word of God says I shall prosper and be in good
health. I command you … It is written here: By the stripes of Jesus I am healed. It is written here: I
shall be successful in all my ways. ‘Oh Jesus, heal me, heal me!’ Go to the devil and tell him what the
Word says. It is written! He can’t compete, he can’t fight. The Bible says he knows the scriptures and
he shudders. John 1. In other words when I read the scriptures, this guy is going to wake-up, shakeup and run away.
Luke 4:15 (KJV) And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

:14 says Jesus returned in the power of the Holy Spirit. Full of the Holy Spirit; led into the wilderness.
Power of the Holy Spirit, come back, and He went into the synagogues and taught.

:16 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and as His custom was He went into
the synagogue on the Sabbath-day and stood up for to read.

Jesus came into the synagogue as His custom was! Hey, He went there every Sabbath-day. And as
His custom was, He stood up to read. So Jesus read in the synagogue since He was a small boy.

Luke 2:42 (KJV) When He was 12 years old He was in the temple, confounded in the scribes about
what He understood from the Bible. So Jesus, as His custom was, came and everybody said: ‘Oh, it’s
that guy Jesus.’ But they didn’t keep count with the fact that He was baptized, the Spirit came upon
Him, declared Him to be the Son of God and He came out of the wilderness.

The people in the synagogue didn’t know that. They were Pharisees, Sadducees and Scribes. They
didn’t know because John already chased them away. They were not at the baptism. In Matt 3 John
already chased the Pharisees away. He said to them: ‘Who are you to be baptized. Do you think you
can escape the wroth of God?’ So they were not there when Jesus was baptized.

So Jesus stood up again to read. They just sat because they were accustomed to it that He did this all
the time.

Luke 4:17 (KJV) … and there was delivered unto Him the book of the prophet Esaias … Now they
didn’t deliver the book of Isaiah to anybody in the synagogue, it must have been an accustomed guy
that they were used to reading it …and when He opened the book … according to Is 43:16 that we
shared earlier … He found the place where it was written. Listen again. Take the Book, search it,
find a place, read it and not one word of prophecy shall fail.

Now Jesus came in to read. They gave Him the Book, He searched and He found a place. Remember,
now it’s got to be fulfilled because He found a place and He’s going to read. IT MUST BE FULFILLED!

:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the
poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives , and
recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

:19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

:20 And He closed the book, and He gave [it] again to the minister and sat down. And the eyes of
all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

Nobody ever read that scripture in the synagogue. They could only read what was applicable to
them out of the Law of Moses. He searched the scripture and found a prophecy in Isaiah that was
not read in the synagogue. He read the prophetic word of the Messiah. He read: “The Spirit of the
Lord is now upon me.” He didn’t quote it, He didn’t say: ‘I am He.’ He read it! They knew what this
prophecy was about, so when He sat down, all the eyes were fastened on Him.

:21 And He began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Then He rolled up the scroll, (put down the book), gave it to the attendant and sat down. The eyes
of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on Him. Then He began to tell them: Today this scripture
has been fulfilled even as you heard it being read. THIS day, this scripture has been fulfilled even as
you heard it being read! THIS day, this scripture has been fulfilled even as you heard it being read!
Imagine if you realize what I’m trying to say. Next time somebody reads Bible, as it’s been read and
you hear it, it can be fulfilled, right there in your midst.

John 10:34 They wanted to stone Jesus because He said: ‘I am the Son of God.’ Jesus asked them:
‘For which of the works do you want to stone me?’ They said: ‘No-no, we’re going to stone you
because you said you’re the Son of God.’ Then Jesus said: ‘Does not your law says: ‘I say, you are

:35 If the scripture cannot be nullified (done away with) of whom it was said then, when it was
written, how can you now say of Him whom the Father has send, when He says He is the Son of God,
that He cannot say it? Even the scriptures cannot be done away with, that already said of them to
whom the Word then came: I say you are God.

It means: I need to stand up and say:

I am a son of God.
I am a daughter of God.
I am chosen.
I am fore-ordained.
I am pre-elected.
I am sanctified.
I am justified.
I am righteous.
I am son of God.
I am in this world and as He is, so am I in this world.
I am more than a conqueror.
I can do all things.
I am above and not beneath.
I am victorious.
I am prosperous.
I am successful.

Even as it is read and you hear it being read, this scripture has been fulfilled.

So I’m just going to the Word with a new brand-new outlook. I’m going to say: if I can just find a
scripture and read it …

Two years ago I preached on Isaiah 34 where it says: if I can find a mate for the scripture that I just
read, it must be fulfilled. In other words if I find one scripture and I can proof it with another
scripture in the Word, it must be fulfilled. If it’s not fulfilled it means then it’s not true. That’s why
the rapture-stuff never comes to be. The end-time anti-christ never rises and the false prophet and
world-ruler never came. Why, because there’s no scripture to declare scripture.

But if I talk about the kingdom, the power, the glory, the signs and wonders, the miracles, the
provision, the prosperity and the peace I got so many scriptures.

If I find it, read it and hear it … FULFILLED!!

It is written!
