RECONCILED WITH CHRIST

THINGS BELONGING TO GOD

God is holy and that causes holiness.

God is just and that brings justification.

God is right and that brings us in righteousness.

God is pure and that brings purity.

God is great and that makes Him powerful.

Romans 8:29-30, 2 Corinthians 3:18 & Galatians 4:19 say that we must come forth in the image of Christ.

These qualities must become ours.

Romans 8:1-3 (Amplified) THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. [John 3:18]. For the law of the SPIRIT OF LIFE [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death. For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who ACCEPT THAT SACRIFICE]…

The Law could not bring you into holiness and justifies you. The Law could not bring purity and makes you powerful and that is why God sent His Son in sinful flesh. He had to die on the cross as a sacrifice so that when we accept that sacrifice we can be perfect, but people struggle with the sacrifice.

When you say that you are a new creation and the old things have passed away, who is lying because people go back to the old life? God cannot lie. He is true. The Law could not do it, but Jesus came to give life so that we can come into the image of Christ. Why do people still struggle?

Hebrews 2:14-15 (Amplified) Since, therefore, [these His] children share in flesh and blood [in the physical nature of human beings], HE [Himself] in a similar manner PARTOOK of the SAME [NATURE]. That by [going through] death He might bring to naught and make of no effect him who had the power of death-that is, the devil. And also that He might deliver and completely SET FREE all those who through the [haunting] fear of death were held in bondage throughout the whole course of their lives.

Jesus did not take upon Himself the nature of angels, but the seed of Abraham.

Colossians 2:13-15 (Amplified) And you who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions. Having CANCELLED and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [HIS] CROSS. [God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in TRUIMPHING OVER THEM IN HIM AND IN IT [THE CROSS.]

Romans 8:1-3 says if you are in Christ, there is no condemnation. The Law could not give you that freedom, but Jesus did by being nailed to the cross. When you accept that sacrifice, you get the benefits. Jesus destroyed the one that kept us away from the benefits. He wiped away the letter with all its accusations that was against us. The letter said that you are guilty and you cannot be rich, healed and prosperous and have peace, but Jesus nailed it to the cross and wiped it away with His Blood and set us free. 1 John 3:8 says that Jesus was manifested for the purpose of destroying the works of the devil. You must accept that sacrifice!

Hebrews 2:16-17 (KJV) For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, TO MAKE RECONCILIATION for the sins of the people.

The things pertaining to God are: righteousness, purity, justice, power and holiness. Jesus took on Him human nature to take sin away so that we can have the things pertaining to God. Jesus is now the faithful High Priest, Who reconciled us with God so that we can have the things pertaining to God.

The whole creation is waiting for the manifesting of the sons of God to be made manifested. They are Christians or Christ-like people that come forth in things pertaining to God. ‘Pertain’ means ‘belong.’ God wants us to be pure, holy, just, righteous and powerful. To get it, we must be reconciled.

RECONCILED TO BE A DWELLING PLACE FOR GOD

Colossians 1:19-20 (Amplified) For it has pleased [the Father] that ALL THE DIVINE FULNESS (the sum total of the divine perfection, powers, and attributes) should dwell in Him permanently. And God purposed that through (by the service, the intervention of) Him [the Son] all things should be COMPLETELY RECONCILED back to Himself, whether on earth or in heaven, as through Him, [the Father] made peace by means of the BLOOD OF THE CROSS.

Attributes mean the things belonging to God. Colossians 2:9 says that in Jesus dwelt all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

Colossians 1:21-23(a) (Amplified) And although you at one time were estranged and alienated from Him and were of hostile attitude of mind in your wicked activities. Yet now has [Christ, the Messiah] RECONCILED [you to God] in the body of His flesh through death, in order to present you HOLY AND FAULTLESS AND IRREPROACHABLE in His [the Father’s] presence. [And this He will do] provided that you continue to stay with and in the faith [in Christ]. Well-grounded and settled and steadfast, not shifting or moving away from the hope [which rests on and is inspired by] the glad tidings (the Gospel), which you heard and which has been preached…

Through the Blood of His cross, Jesus reconciled us back to God so that we can be holy, faultless and irreproachable – all because of that sacrifice. If you accept the sacrifice, what the Law could not do, God made possible by sending Jesus in the flesh. In that flesh body, He died and reconciled us to God by His blood to make us righteous and justified.

Jesus did it all for us!

Ephesians 2:13-16 (Amplified) But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were [so] far away, through (by, in) the BLOOD OF CHRIST have been BROUGHT NEAR. For He is [Himself] our peace (our bond of unity and harmony). He has made us both [Jew and Gentile] one [body], and has broken down (destroyed, abolished) the hostile dividing wall between us. By abolishing in His [own crucified] flesh the enmity [caused by] the Law with its decrees and ordinances [which He annulled]; that He from the two might create in Himself one new man [one new quality of humanity out of the two], so making peace. And [He designed] to RECONCILE TO GOD both [Jew and Gentile, united] in a single body by means of HIS CROSS, thereby killing the mutual enmity and bringing the feud to an end.

Ephesians 2:21-22 (Amplified) In Him the whole structure is joined (bound, welded) together harmoniously, and it continues to RISE (grow, increase) INTO A HOLY TEMPLE in the Lord [a sanctuary dedicated, consecrated, and sacred to the presence of the Lord]. In Him [and in fellowship with one another] you yourselves also are being BUILT UP [into this structure] with the rest, to form a fixed abode (DWELLING PLACE) OF GOD in (by, through) the Spirit.

The same thing that is written in Hebrews is written in Colossians, Ephesians and in Romans. Over and over it is said that Jesus reconciled us back to God by means of His cross and His blood. Christ became the sacrifice. When we accept that sacrifice, we will be without fault, holy, just and right. Then we will be built to form the sanctuary or dwelling place for the Holy Spirit. We become the place where God lives -His holy temples. 1 Corinthians 6:19 and 2 Corinthians 6:16 say that we are the temple of the Living God and it can have no fellowship with idols. We are supposed to be the temple, but now he says that we are built up to become the sanctuary where God lives.

The tabernacle of Moses had an outer court, an inner court or Holy Place and a Most Holy Place. The fixed abode or Dwelling Place of God in Ephesians 2:22 means the Most Holy Place. God did not dwell in the outer court or the inner court, but He manifested Himself in the Most Holy Place behind the veil only when the sacrifice that the high priest brought, was accepted. Jesus Christ became the final sacrifice and we accept that sacrifice, therefore Jesus made possible and did what for the Law was impossible and could not do. Then we become the Most Holy Dwelling Place of God. We become the sanctuary and we are holy, blameless and faultless and the attributes of God become our portion.

Jesus reconciled us back to God for this purpose: He wants us to be the Dwelling Place of God. Why then do we struggle with the old things and attitudes? Did we miss it or did God lie to us? The cross is the dividing line between the old and the new and it is the place where the final sacrifice was paid. The blood of the cross broke the down the dividing wall and reconciled us back to God. Why do we still struggle with the old man?

ACCEPT THE SACRIFICE

There is only one thing that you must do and that is to accept the sacrifice. All the other things Jesus did for us. He died on the cross and His blood was shed and the cross. All this He did for only one reason and that is to reconcile us to God.

Romans 5:1-2 (Amplified) Therefore, since WE ARE JUSTIFIED (acquitted, DECLARED RIGHTEOUS, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] HAVE [THE PEACE of RECONCILIATION TO HOLD AND TO ENJOY] PEACE WITH GOD through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). Through Him also WE HAVE [our] ACCESS (entrance, introduction) by faith INTO THIS GRACE (state of God’s favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our HOPE OF EXPERIENCING and ENJOYING THE GLORY OF GOD.

We are justified and now we’ve just entered into grace and faith. If we walk in deeper, we will experience the glory. The glory is in the Most Holy Place.

Ephesians 2:3-11 (Amplified) Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance. And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation. Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit, Who has been given to us. While we were yet in weakness [powerless to help ourselves], at the fitting time CHRIST DIED FOR (in behalf of) THE UNGODLY. Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to give his life even for an upright man, though perhaps for a noble and lovable and generous benefactor someone might even dare to die. But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS, CHRIST (the Messiah, the Anointed One) DIED FOR US. Therefore, since WE ARE NOW JUSTIFIED (acquitted, MADE RIGHTEOUS, and brought into right relationship with God) BY CHRIST’S BLOOD, HOW MUCH MORE [certain is it that] we SHALL BE SAVED by Him from the indignation and wrath of God. For if WHILE we were ENEMIES WE WERE RECONCILED to God THROUGH DEATH OF HIS SON, it is much more [certain], now that we are reconciled, that WE SHALL BE SAVED (daily delivered from sin’s dominion) THROUGH HIS RESURRECTION LIFE. Not only so, but WE also REJOICE and exultingly glory in God [in His love and perfection] through our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom WE HAVE NOW RECEIVED AND ENJOY OUR RECONCILIATION. [Jeremiah. 9:24].

When we were sinners, Christ died for us at the right time. That only gave us the entrance. ‘Since we are reconciled’ means that we have done nothing yet. Jesus did all on the cross that we could be justified. How much more since we are reconciled, shall He then save you from sin’s dominion at a daily rate?

Why does the old man still live? You must accept the sacrifice. There is a saving that still comes from the dominion of sin after we have been reconciled back to God through the price Jesus paid on the cross. Hebrews 6:1 says that we must go on to perfection. There is a growing that comes where sin shall not have dominion over us any more.

Romans 8:1 says that if any man is IN Christ, there is no condemnation. Sin’s dominion brings condemnation. If the power of the dominion of sin is broken, there is no condemnation. InRomans 5 it says that you must receive and accept.

The church taught half of the truth over the years. At the end of the meeting they said that every head must bow and eyes must be closed. There is no scripture for that. People sneaked into the Kingdom and no one was to see it and people became secret agents for the Kingdom of God. No one knew that they’ve accepted Christ and that is wrong!

The church asked people that if they are not sure that they are going to heaven… There is no scripture for that either. The church asked the people what they would say to God why He must allow them in heaven if they die and go to heaven today. There is no scripture for that. Then they asked that all the people that are sure that they go to heaven to put up their hands. Then the church got them in front and got them to confess. They had to say, “Jesus wash me in Your blood.” That is scriptural. Then they had to say, “I accept You as my LORD and my Savior.” That is also scriptural (John 1:12 and Romans 10:9-10). After that they had to say, “Come and live in my heart.” That is also scriptural. Ephesians 3 and Colossians 1:27 say that Christ is now in us.

We did the receiving, but it was with a 30% truth. Then the preacher announced that they are now new creations and all the old things have passed away. So they go out and get into the same car, with the same spouse and the same problems and eventually they find themselves doing the same old sinful things they did before. People become disillusioned and they are called backsliders. The New Testament does not use that word. Israel was called backsliders because of their rebellion. Paul says that there are people that left the faith, because they fell in love with the present world again. They did not backslide, but went back to the world.

GROW IN GRACE

We did the receiving. John 1:11 says that Jesus came to His own and they did not receive Him, but as many as received Him, He gave the power to become the children of God to those that believe on His Name. They are not born of the flesh and blood, but they are born of God. You are now born again and the Seed of God is now planted in you. Christ in you is the hope of the glory. (Colossians 1:27) It is the entrance, but as we grow, we start experiencing the glory. Accepting Christ is the hope of the glory.

If you want to go to heaven, you can die and then you are there. If you ask Him into your life and asked His blood to cleanse you, you go to heaven when you die. You do not have to pay something to someone, go through purgatory, and have someone pray for you or need a priest to open the heaven for you. You do not have to die! You can live and become a son of God. You can be someone, who means something for this earth. Heaven is not in desperate need of you! God is still on the throne and has everything perfectly under control. Earth is in desperate need of you. Sinners need to be saved, sick needs healing and problems need to be solved. You are needed on the earth!

If all the old things have passed away, why do we still struggle with them? Jesus did everything to reconcile you back to God. You’ve got to accept the sacrifice. Most of us accepted Jesus into our lives, but did we really accept the sacrifice. Paul said that when he came to the Corinthians, he wanted to know nothing accept Jesus Christ and Him crucified. To the Jews it was a stumble block, because they wanted a king and not a sacrifice. To the Greeks it was foolishness because they crucified their king. Now to us, who are being saved, who are daily saved from sin’s dominion, it is the power of God. You’ve got to accept the sacrifice.

You asked Jesus to wash you in His blood and received Him as your personal Savior. You confessed Him as the LORD of your life, but why do you struggle with the old man? That is the reason Christians go for counseling and deliverance. They do everything to get rid of the old man instead of accepting the sacrifice.

The Word does not tell you to go to someone to get rid of your past. You must go to the cross to get rid of your past.

2 Corinthians 5:11-12 (Amplified) Therefore, being conscious of fearing the Lord with respect and reverence, we seek to win people over [to persuade them]. But what sort of persons we are is plainly recognized and thoroughly understood by God, and I hope that it is plainly recognized and thoroughly understood also by your consciences (your inborn discernment). We are not commending ourselves to you again, but we are PROVIDING YOU WITH AN OCCASION and incentive TO BE [rightfully] PROUD OF US, so that you may have a reply for those who pride themselves on surface appearances [on the virtues they only appear to have], although their heart is devoid of them.

This is church people that come to church and praise God, but at home the words they say, are that of the world. It seems as if there are two sources in one fountain. The same tree cannot have fruit and thorns. On the outside you can appear as someone that is so holy and everything is in order, while on the inside it is a different story. Paul tells them that he did not like such prideful people, but they had to get an inner discernment that they were not commending themselves. Paul wanted to give them an occasion to bring them to another experience, because they feared God.

2 Corinthians 5:13-15 (Amplified) For if we are beside ourselves [mad, as some say], it is for God and concerns Him; if we are in our right mind, it is for your benefit. For the love of Christ controls and urges and impels us, because we are of the opinion and conviction that [if] One died for all, then all died. And He died for all, so that all those who live might live no longer to and for themselves, but to and for Him Who died and was raised again for their sake.

We are all supposed to be dead when Christ dwells in us. Romans 5 says that Christ died for us while we were yet sinners and now He shall daily save us much more now that He is raised.

2 Corinthians 5:16 (KJV) Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

If we accept the sacrifice, we will not know Him in the flesh. We will know Him, what He did and why He did it: To bring you into perfection.

CHRIST IN US AND US IN CHRIST

2 Corinthians 5:17 (Amplified) Therefore if any person is [engrafted] IN CHRIST (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold! The fresh and new has come!

We receive Jesus into our hearts and so Christ in us is the hope to get us into the glory. If any man is IN Christ, he is a new creature. You are not IN Christ when you accept Jesus. Christ is in you when you accept Jesus. If any man is IN Christ, he is new and all the old things have passed away and all has become new.

2 Corinthians 5:18 (Amplified) But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ RECONCILED US TO HIMSELF [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and GAVE US THE MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION [that by word and deed we might aim to BRING OTHER INTO HARMONY WITH HIM].

God reconciled us back to Him through the cross of Jesus Christ. The Webster’s Dictionary says that ‘reconcile’ means to bring into harmony with or to adjust to the same. God had Jesus to come in the flesh to die on the cross to bring you back into friendship with Him. He had to adjust you to His attributes. God wanted you to harmonize with Him. You did not do it. He did it! That is called grace. Ephesians 2:18 says that we are saved by grace through faith.

BE RECONCILED WITH GOD

2 Corinthians 5:19-21 (Amplified) It was God [personally present] in Christ, RECONCILING and RESTORING THE WORLD to favor WITH HIMSELF, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but CANCELLING THEM], and COMMITTING TO US THE MESSAGE OF RECONCILIATION (of the restoration to favor). So WE ARE CHRIST’S AMBASSADORS, God making His appeal as it were through us. We [as Christ’s personal representatives] BEG YOU for His sake to LAY HOLD OF THE DIVINE FAVOR [now offered you] and BE RECONCILED TO GOD. For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might BECOME [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God. [What we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness].

God already reconciled the whole world back to Himself. Paul begs us, Christians to be reconciled with God. You must now come and do reconciliation from your side. God made Jesus sin so that we can BECOME the things pertaining to God.

God reconciled the world in Christ. Now Christ in us is pressing us to reconcile back to God so that the adjustment can be made that is called harmonizing. If you take a guitar and tune the strings and press a chord, you get a harmonious sound. To get the harmony, you’ve got do some adjustments. You tune some stings and press others. Some are already there and you do not have to tune or press them. All the strings are not the same note, but they are in harmony. The same chord can be played on different places on the guitar, but although they sound the same, they are pressed differently and at different places.

We beg you to be reconciled with Christ, because God already reconciled you to Him. If you are reconciled, that puts you in Christ. If you are in Christ, you are a new creation and the old things have passed away!
