THINK RIGHT, LIVE RIGHT

Let This Mind Be In You

"It is your Beliefs, Believing is what empowers the tongue.

So whatever you believe, when spoken, that which you say has power to create realities...."

From Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich, to Norman Vincent Peale’s The Power of Positive thinking. Thinking has always been one of the major reasons behind any success men has experienced. Henry Ford had this to say, “ Both He who thinks he can and he who thinks he can’t are both right.” My father Prophet Kobus Van Rensburg, just before his passing coined this famous quote , “You thoughts are the preview of your life’s forth coming attractions.”

Many books have been return about Thinking right, I believe you have read or heard about this like secret heck, but for some reason you haven’t experienced the results that all this books claim to say that thinking right produces. Allow me to submit this one thing, could it be that the problem is not with the Thinking Right, but rather with us, our thinking about thinking right could be our biggest hinderance.

Most of us try to think right, most of us to decide to think right. The lack of intentionality when it comes to our thoughts could be why we don’t see the results we so dearly wish to have. In this blog I will attempt , through scripture and other reading material that is relevant to expand on a concept I believe has been already explored in depth but still proves to be a lacking practice among believes.

THE THINKING HEART

I have discovered that, when it comes to thinking right, most people understand it as an intellect thing. They try to convince their BRAIN to think or compute the right thoughts, but I would like to submit to you another way of looking at things. What if I told you according to God, when he talks of thinking , he is referring to the Thinking Heart and not the Thinking Brain. Jesus says to the pharisees in Luke 5:22-23 , Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?"

Jesus acknowledges that the Heart is Thinking, and in this case their heart was thinking wrong. But what one needs to know, after realizing that their Heart is their Thinker that influences the direction and outcome of their life. Without leaving anyone confused may I just clarify that when I mention your Heart as the thinker, I am not referring to the Organ that pumps blood, no not that. I am referring to your Conscience, your conscience is what the bible refers to as the Heart. Now that we are all hopefully on the same page , let me go on and build upon these pillars.

PROVERBS 23:7

"As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he”

According to the bible, men is a PRODUCT OF HIS THINKING IN HIS HEART. In actual fact if one was to do an adit on their thoughts, they would just need to look at the current state of their life. The decisions they have made are a product of their thinking which I would like to call Beliefs. If we can understand that the power of thinking is very much connected to the spiritual force called belief. The things you think in your Heart ( Conscience ) is actually your beliefs, that is what you believe, and that believing force is the one that creates the world you live in through the thoughts you release.

To substantiate my proposal, allow me to refer you to Romans 10:10 , which will open a new avenue we will be exploring in this blog.

ROMANS 10:10

"For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.”

Now it then becomes clear that when God refers to Thinking is also referring to Believing and both these activities similar in nature are happening in the Heart. So one can say, what you think is what you believe or you believe what you think. With Your Heart (the thinker) you Believe. So my question is when you think Right , do you believe what you are Thinking or do you just go about collecting thoughts and try remember them using your brain and call that thinking right? Thinking right goes beyond gathering the right thoughts , it's more about believing the thoughts you have gathered, if they be Good, they will produce Good, if they be Evil they will produce evil. The power behind this producing is our Believing thoughts.

Remember earlier I mentioned that the aim of the blog is to attempt to disclose why maybe some of our Thinking Right doesn’t surmount to us Living Right. One of the reason I mentioned is that maybe we are busy just memorising thoughts on an intellect level, using our brain and not our heart. Also to know that the heart is the conscience, the believing faculty that builds our belief system which becomes the thoughts that shape our life. Let me now explore the second aspect of Thinking Right and Living Right.

THE HEART AND MOUTH

If you know me, then you are very much aware of my love for guns. I would like to use an example of the Double barrel shot gun in this next point. As much as Thinking Right constitutes a part of Living Right, it would be very unfair for me to just give you that one part, because you will not be very effect with your thinking right. Like the double barrel gun, Thinking right has its part called Speaking right, put together these two can create a force that can take down a raging bull. I mean to say, when you understanding your thinking right should be followed by speaking right then you can start seeing the much needed results you want.

Romans 10:10 did show us that after thinking, comes confessing or speaking, and it is in the speaking that salvation then comes or in our case victory or results come when we speak what we believe in our heart. Proverbs 18:18 says the power of life and death is in the lounge, he that uses it, shall eat the fruit of it. I just paraphrased it so I can allude to the fact that, the bible acknowledges that the tongue or speaking has POWER, and this power can produce Life or Death. But my question is,

What Empowers the Tongue?

It is your Beliefs, Believing is what empowers the tongue. So whatever you believe, when spoken, that which you say has power to create realities.

These concepts are not anything New, its not a new-age discovery like most believers think and shy away from the realities of these concepts. The Say it to See it concept is a God concept

, In the beginning God Said, and it Was. But remember these are concepts that need to be used from a place of understanding. Jesus in Mark 11:22-24 also teaches the same concept ,

“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

The believing condition of your heart determines the results that come from your mouth. Jesus puts a condition, he says they must not be DOUBT in your heart. To prove to your that the Heart is a thinking heart again, let's look at James 1 , when he says , A double minded person is unstable in all his ways, he must not think he will receive anything from God.

Firstly, there is no results where doubt is involved. Secondly, knowing what the word Doubt means will do you tremendous help in understanding this blog.

Doubt//

Having a second thought

Jesus talks of Doubt in the Heart, James talks of Doubt in the Mind, which makes me conclude that the Heart and Mind are one thing that is interchangeable in the bible , so if that is established then the confusion is cleared. Thoughts of Believed are in the Heart-mind, this is me just implying the whole concept this blog is attempting to teach, I hope it helps.

MATTHEW 12:34-40

"For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil.”

This scripture serves to show the connection between your hear and mouth, if the heart is full the mouth will off load, so if you really want to know what is in a person’s heart, listen to that which he talks about when he is the most relaxed.

Your mouth will expose your heart, that’s why David said, let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart (thinkings of my heart) be pleasing in your sight. He was very much away that, what’s coming out of his mouth has been produced in his heart, there should be no disconnect when it comes to your mouth and you heart, that way your heart and mouth will produce the results you want.

Listen to what God has to say when there is a disconnect,

MATTHEW 15:8-9

"This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me.”

Jesus says it's in VAIN, meaning it does not yield any result, it has no power in simple words. So if you really wish to have your words carry power and produce results then you have to understand that they should not be Doubt (second thought) in your heart and also they should not be a Disconnect between your Believer and your Speaker ( Heart and mouth).

CONVERSATIONS THAT BRING MANIFESTATIONS

This last part might just be the one most people omit, they might have the first two in check but the backbone and foundation for the first two is this one, I call it the CONSISTENCY of MEDITATION AND SPEECH. What do I mean by this? Well I have realised that most people take Right thinking and Right Speaking as a quick fix antidote to a situation they desire to change or for something they wish to acquire, but in my learning and finding this is far from how God intended it to function. God’s intent of this concept is found in the book of Joshua.

JOSHUA 1:8

"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Do you notice, after meditating, then YOU will make YOUR way prosperous. God didn’t say I will make your way prosperous, no. God gives the formula to the concept and it lies in DAY & NIGHT with translates to CONSISTENCY, its not a once of quick fix thing no. The heart needs to be built up by consistent meditation on Gods word, so that when the THEN comes which is when you open your mouth to SPEAK, because proverbs said he who uses the tongue will eat the fruit of its the making your way prosperous is the Speaking which has been empowered by meditation.

This brings me now to the scripture I hope in closing will make you rethink how you engage and conduct yourself on a daily basis. The means of you being relatable is highly predicated on the quality of conversations you can facilitate. It is through our daily conversations that our belief system is formed. Whatever is deposited in that belief system then becomes the empowering force of the words we speak and the worlds we create for ourselves and those around us.

PHILIPPIANS 3:20

"For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

Paul tries to make us understand that, the qualities of conversations we have and the results they portray has a lot to do not with the exact words we are saying but rather from what position we are saying it from. Ecclesiastics 8 says, where the Word of a king is, there is power. So your position determines your authority, and your authority regulates the response you get when you speak.

We have a heavenly position from which we need to have conversations from, which will yield the expected results because from that realm we understand that the worlds were framed by faith. Once our conversation is right, then the manifestation will be right. Your life has a tendency of following the way of your tongue and you tongue has a way of asking the heart where to go. If you can then get your heart and your mouth to agree on a consistent basis, then I can almost guarantee you that you will start seeing results in your faith walk, and the Just shall live by faith will finally make sense.

Some of you might be now asking, how do we make sure our conversation remain in heaven and not find them being down here on earth in the streets? The secret is what Paul closed with in his letter to the church in Philippa.

PHILIPPIANS 4:8

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things”.

If one can stick to this blueprint, then having conversations that are from above will become a much achievable lifestyle which is what we are advocating, a transformed mind (heart) that produces transforming speech (mouth).
